I received another short call from Matt on Thursday. They were awakened at 2:00 am that morning and had to be ready to go by 3:15 am. They were then transported to their base, COB Speicher.
Matt has been assigned his living space, and so far he only has to share his hut (yes - a shipping container) with one person. He said the A/C in his room wasn’t too strong, but it worked. Phone and internet access continues to be limited and they probably won’t have internet access readily available for about a month. Part of the issue is that their eating, working, and living areas are somewhat spread out on this base. So he may have anywhere from a long walk to a bus ride to get to some of these things. He hadn’t taken any photos yet. So far I don’t believe he’s too impressed with the scenery.
